It’s been an absolute blessing to be back in the Pacific! Growing up, I have always taken for granted living in paradise. Now being stateside, I realize just how lucky I am. With the pandemic, I realize just how blessed I am. naturally the first thing on the agenda was to eat some great grub! Be blessed everyone and be a blessing to someone. Family is family since ever since.
Prices are actually on par with the west coast of the the USA which it pretty scary.
Please don’t take the title above in any negative way. I fully understand that many have come before EZ Mil and many more will come after. From a founding member of The Black Eye Peas, apl.de.ap to Chad Hugo, 1/2 of the world famous music production group The Neptunes and even the dance super group, The Jabbawokeez; Filipino footprints can be seen all thru Hip-Hop and we haven’t even mentioned all the filipino’s that were contestants on American Idol.
EZ Mil is just different; using instruments that will make any filipino remember their Lola’s house and all while bringing a cultural flavor to the whole track. He has the flow that this generation of Hip Hop fans listen too while having the word play and vocabulary that the OG’s can appreciate.
I been in Spain (Spain)
But the letter ’S’ is silent (pain)
I’m claimin’ my reign like a king
So I can water crops for survivin’ (rain rain)Ez Mil – Panalo (Trap Carinosa)
I don’t know about you but I would rather listen to lyrics like that then hearing someone spit out two bars and call that a song.
If you don’t think EZ Mil’s word play separates himself from this generations rappers; maybe this line will show you just how much more versatile he is compared to your favorite rapper.
Kung inakala mong isang lenggwahe
Lang kayang gamitin ni Ez Mil
La kang mapapala kung ganyan ka
Magisip kay Bathala ka sisingil
Utang na galing sa loob na
Lumutang, hinain sa turon na may
Pusang sinaing sa
Mag ilokano ka tol!

The filipino homie now raps in Tagalog – The most commonly used language in the Philippines!
Finally, if that is not impressive enough, on the following section he raps in another language…Ilocano.
Uray no nga imbagak kinyayo
Dittoy ak laeng ag-ururay no sinno
Tapno eh sang sangitam ak inte wagas
Mo nga payo
Ngata kay-kayatem nga patayeng ka
Ken atoy bayoEZ Mil – Panalo (Trap Carinosa)
If you’re still not convinced; let’s talk numbers. The online performance (made private as or 3/29) from the track that got him mainstream exposure is currently at 65 million views (as of March 2021.) Finally, I am also not the only one who gets hyped on EZ Mil:
Reactions beginning at 2:15 mark is priceless.
4:45 mark is priceless
All said and done, EZ Mil brings a sense of pride to all filipino’s. It’s only a matter of time when people start yelling out 2200 (zip code of Olongopo City, Philippines) just like they were yelling Bad Boy during my days in college. BAD BOY FOR LIFE!!!!
In this pandemic, it’s easy to get down. Keep moving. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Remember, we come from power. Greatness is in our bloodline!
Thousands of Islands…ONE heart…ONE nation.
