Millions of Christians around the word begin the Lent season. Starting with Ash Wednesday on 2/14 and culminating on Easter Sunday on 3/31. In between the two we have Palm Sunday (3/24), Maundy Thursday (3/28), Good Friday (3/29), and Black Saturday (3/30.

Lent is a Christian season of spiritual preparation before Easter. It is a time of fasting, prayer, repentance, and self-denial. Lent lasts for 40 days, not counting Sundays, in imitation of Jesus Christ’s fast in the wilderness. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which is a day of ashes and penitence. Lent ends on Holy Thursday or Holy Saturday, depending on the denomination. The purpose of Lent is to reflect on the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and to draw closer to God.
